Linden's Sirocco

image.png

Sirocco came to Linden Farm in June 2011, 13 years ago. At the time, his name was Jackson, and he had several sarcoids on his neck and body. Sarcoids are noncancerous tumors or skin growths and originate from association with cows since the origin of the growth is “Bovine Papillomavirus.”  He was purchased for a client, but she rejected him on the theory that the sarcoids would spread over his entire body.

Within  six months of his arrival at Linden, his name was changed to “Sirocco” (a very fast wind), and he was sarcoid free!!  Something in our water and of course, no cows! Dr, Murphy asked what we had done to cure him, and we could honestly say “nothing.”

Sirocco is an Anglo-Arab and has always had the most perfect head carriage! Lovely in Dressage and very willing over his fences. He could be very strong in the outside ring, but the use of a pelham helps him to maintain a slower pace.

He is a great trail horse and was shown to several Championships at Mounted Wanderers and BEST show series.

He is about 22 now but is still a lovely ride and will absolutely take his rider on a mad gallop around the outdoor ring if given half a chance. Not a beginner horse, but a fun ride for someone with a bit of experience.
