Accokeek Buttercup is an American Standardbred mare. She was bred in Maryland by Michael Williams as a racehorse, and as such she is registered by the United States Trotting Associating.
She was born in 2006 and trained to race in harness. Sadly, she was not successful as a race horse, and in 2010 she was donated to Linden Farm for use as a lesson horse for driving. In 2012 she was sold to Skip and Val Nocciolo with the understanding that she would never leave Linden Farm. Skip drove her around the farm, and she was used in a couple of driving exhibitions and she was trailered to several driving competitions and in 2012 to a fox hunt were she followed the field for the entire hunt.

She was then trained to saddle for Val, and ultimately became a lesson horse. She is great on the trail, has been trailered off the farm and done a Hunter Pace.

She is a well-put-together bay mare who has no real faults. She can be a bit forward, and she really needs a regular rider who will give her a bit of exercise and help her remember that she is a horse and not a lawn ornament.
